Annual Accounting
The backbone of any accountancy practice has and will remain the preparation and filing of annual accounts both with HM Revenue & Customs and for corporate entities, Companies House as well. For charities there will also be filing with the Charities Commission.

Apart from our business clients, our largest number of personal tax clients are Buy To Let Landlords. This group of clients represent over a third of our personal tax cases. Recent law changes such as restrictions on mortgage interest deductions and flat rate deductions have changed the landscape of property taxes.

The requirement for limited companies to undertake a statutory audit in accordance with the Companies Act legislation has reduced over the years as successive minimum threshold limits have increased. This has resulted in many firms of accountants dropping their audit authorisation altogether.
Advisory Services
Accountants have always offered advisory services but they have always tended to be ad hoc, which rarely provided long term benefits to clients. We are different inasmuch that we want to work with you on an ongoing basis, helping you increase your profits and/or freeing up that most valuable of resources, time. for this reason we offer a regular adivsory service.
Within our Business Growth service, we look to work with clients on at least a quarterly basis, with check ins in between. Most porblems can be solved, not with wizzy software or brand new ideas, but by taking previous experiences and blending them to fit the current need. We then agree certain actions to move the porcess forward.
The Growth service can be tailored to suit needs and can be as often as monthly if there is a need for urgent action. Before undertaking this type of serivce, it is vital that ground rules are set out. We can provide as much support as is required but our ideas will only have meaning and purpose if they are put into action. For this reason we make it clear from the outset that success will only come if you undetake the agreed actions at the end of each session.
An advisory story
We have acted for this client for many years and some years ago they were keen to make their mark in their locality which involved working with the Local Authority to provide services to the community. The decision was taken to initially undertake a monthly advisory service during which time the business grew quickly, thanks in no small part to the efforts of the director and senior team. Their expertise in their local field became acknowledged and they are now the first port of call for the Local Authority, with the director sitting on various advisory boards himself.
